Adam Smith founded My IT Guy in 2004. In the 20 years since, Adam’s experience in helping Small and Medium sized Businesses (SMBs) to wisely invest in their technology solutions has enabled them to be more efficient, more productive, and more profitable.

Adam knows that SMBs thrive with trusted, reliable, and proactive technical expertise, so he and his team deliver on this by first seeking to understand your goals, and then devising IT strategy recommendations to move businesses forward.

Adam was nominated for the Greater K-W Chamber of Commerce’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, in 2011, 2012 and 2017, and for the Business of the Year Award (1-10 Employees) in 2016, 2017, and 2023.

Adam served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber of Commerce from 2016-2022, serving as Chair from March 2020 to September 2022, and continues to serve the Board as Past Chair.

In the Fall of 1998, Michelle left university to work for a .com company and eventually, attend and graduate college with a diploma in IT. She began developing her career in 2001 – over 20 years with 2 organizations in Toronto and Kitchener – before joining My IT Guy in June 2021. Michelle thrives on helping people overcome their fear of technology through empowerment and education.

When Michelle isn’t geeking out in her work, she keeps busy with playing sports, video games, making music, trying new craft beers, and working on her blog/podcast. She can also be found hanging out at parks with her kids, and trying to convince them that walks are fun (usually unsuccessfully).

As an LGTBQ+ non-binary woman, Michelle is incredibly passionate about promoting inclusivity and visibility of marginalized people in all areas of IT.

David Secord
David SecordIT Solutions Expert
Over the course of his 28 year career in IT, David has gained a wealth of experience.

David owned and operated Duras Computing from 1999 until joining forces with My IT Guy in 2018. David built up a loyal clientele over those years by providing friendly, knowledgeable, and personal service, and continues to bring that commitment to every new client he meets.

Originally from Toronto and graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University, David and his family now enjoy living in Kitchener.

Spencer Gough
Spencer GoughIT Solutions Expert
Spencer is originally from Toronto where he completed his diploma in the Computer Networking and Technical Support program at Seneca College. He has been living in the Kitchener area for several years now, on a weekend you might catch him watching a Formula 1 race, playing video games or catching a hockey game.

Spencer has been working in IT since 2014. He started working with a large financial institution but over time has found his passion is helping small and medium sized businesses make the most of their IT infrastructure. Always patient, Spencer is great at explaining technical concepts in an easy to understand way.
